Regarding CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) at Samhung, we have two examples that clearly show how important this matter is to us.

We have shared these two examples with our other clients, and feedback has always been positive. 

 

 

 

1. Employee health:

 

Since our foundation in 1968, we have always believed that healthy employees equals healthy results. This is not just a mantra for us, we take it to heart.

 

At many manufacturing facilities, the metal plating area often has terrible air quality due to the chemicals used for this process. There are plating areas where one cannot be in the room for over a minute before eyes begin to tear up, and breathing becomes extremely uncomfortable. Full protection must be worn.

 

In 2008, when we were constructing a brand new manufacturing facility, we made air quality a top priority by installing a state-of-the-art air filtration system for the building, and specifically for the metal plating area.

 

The engineer in charge of air quality at the time stated that he had yet to see a factory focus so much on air filtration equipment, as the other sites he had worked on only wanted to meet the bare minimum at the least cost possible.

 

Here at Samhung, have seen the long-term benefits of this: healthier, happier employees producing better, higher quality products.

2. Environmental benefits:

 

In 2009, when we were constructing a brand new HQ building, we decided to do our small part in helping the environment: we built a garden on the roof of our factory. 

 

A factory and a garden are rarely terms heard together, and that's exactly why we did this. We've seen the following benefits through our garden:

• Helping to improve the air quality of an industrial neighborhood.

• Lowering energy costs for heating and cooling the factory building.

• A natural, green area where our employees and visitors can take a break and enjoy the scenery.

 

Both of the above examples were the result of much planning, budgeting and caring about CSR. We at Samhung look forward to adding more examples in the future.
